COURSE INFORMATION

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to safely perform basic rigging work associated with movement of plant and equipment, steel erections, hoists (including mast climbing hoists), placement of pre-cast concrete, safety nets and static lines, perimeter safety screens and shutters; and cantilever crane loading platforms for licensing purposes.

Assessment for High Risk Work (HRW) licences is undertaken by an accredited assessor approved by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.

This unit is based on the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.

This training is conducted under agreement with MyneSight Pty Ltd RTO #31900.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age to undertake assessment

The pre-requisite requirement may be met by either the successful completion of the unit CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging or holding a valid licence for dogging.

Participants are required to have a reasonable level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) ability to ensure the successful completion of this course.

These include:

  • Language skills: Be able to interpret dogging and workplace unique terminology to effectively communicate with other workplace personnel, as well as use non-verbal communication such as hand and whistle signals.
  • Literacy skills: Sufficient reading skills to be able to read and interpret documentation such as Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice, Australian Standard, emergency, signage, tags and labels etc. Sufficient written skills to accurately record and maintain information relating to dogging such as risk assessments, lift plans, incident reports and maintenance records.
  • Numeracy skills: Be able to interpret and calculate numerical information such as working load limits and safe working loads of lifting equipment in various configurations.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with an electronic Statement of Attainment for: CPCCLRG3001A – Licence to perform rigging basic level

Successful applicants will also receive an assessment summary (AS1) from the accredited assessor.

5 Days

Training is delivered face-to-face by experienced industry trainers.

Participants will be required to complete theory and practical activities and assessments.

Training is generally delivered at a purpose-built training location in Cannonvale or on site in a suitable training environment.
