The industry-recognised Standard 11 Generic Coal Mine Induction (Surface) Refresher program aims to assess and refresh participants skills and knowledge required for working in surface coal mining operations.

The Standard 11 includes the 6 nationally recognised units of competency required to meet the RIISS00034 – Surface Coal Mine Safety Skill Set as listed below:

  • RIICOM201D Communicate in the workplace
  • RIIGOV201D Comply with site work processes/procedures
  • RIIWHS201D Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures
  • RIIRIS201D Conduct local risk control
  • RIIERR205D Apply initial response first aid
  • RIIERR302D Respond to local emergencies and incidents

This training is conducted under agreement with MyneSight Pty Ltd RTO #31900.

Current Standard 11 Statement of Attainment not more than 6 months out of date. (to be supplied at time of booking)

*If more than 6 months out of date call us to discuss your experience and check your eligibility to attend the refresher program.

Participants are required to have a reasonable level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) ability to ensure the successful completion of this course.

These include:

  • Language skills: Be able to interpret dogging and workplace unique terminology to effectively communicate with other workplace personnel, as well as use non-verbal communication such as hand and whistle signals.
  • Literacy skills: Sufficient reading skills to be able to read and interpret documentation such as Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice, Australian Standard, emergency signage, tags and labels etc. Sufficient written skills to accurately record and maintain information relating to dogging such as risk assessments, lift plans, incident reports and maintenance records.
  • Numeracy skills: Be able to interpret and calculate numerical information such as working load limits and safe working loads of lifting equipment in various configurations.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with an electronic Statement of Attainment.

4 – 6 hours

Training is delivered face-to-face by experienced industry trainers.

Participants will be required to complete theory and practical activities and assessments.

Training can be delivered at our training facility in Bowen or on site in a suitable training environment.
